Inola Gurgulia Record

HAMS under the label MoonLab Sounds had the incredible honor to be the first to release a vinyl record of the legendary Georgian singer-songwriter Inola Gurgulia.

By marrying Tbilisi’s urban folk music with her melancholic lyrics, Inola (1929 - 1977) wrote some of the most iconic Georgian songs of the 20th century. Her music is catchy, melodic, and raw. Inola never tried to become famous but wanted her music to be heard and enjoyed. Although her music was never released during her life, her songs were informally recorded with the accompaniment of her guitar shortly before her passing. These heartfelt and melancholic songs have been passed down through generations of Tbilisi.

This very limited run of 7” handmade late-cut records was released on July 25, 2021, what would’ve been Inola’s 92nd birthday.
